I’m teaching a corp. class on campus at UCI this week. A student saw my website, noticed that I went to school in Philadelphia, and mentioned that he was from Philadelphia. We then got into a discussion of foods we missed. That sent me to a local Philly’s Best on my way home. Above is my lunch: cheesesteak sub with mushrooms & onions, cherry hot peppers, a Pennsylvania Dutch Birch Beer, and a selection of Tastykake’s to be consumed over a few meals.
I’m told that Scrapple can be found in the freezer section of the local Ralph’s. However neither of us knows where to get soft pretzels. I tell him about my slacker brother who won’t bring or send me pretzels because he’s… well he’s grouchy and inflexible.
I’m off to Ralph’s…
